International cooperation: Jóhanna Lava Køtlum, Fiskaaling CEO, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) and. The aim is to facilitate a collaborative programme of research, training, curriculum and institutional development, dissemination of information and exchange of students and staff.
NMBU is an internationally renowned educational and research institution. The main areas of expertise include aquaculture, environment, sustainable development, people and animal health, climate change challenges, renewable energy resources, food production as well as regional and resource management.
Fiskaaling and the Norwegian University of Life Sciences agree to facilitate, where financially feasible, long-term and short-term exchanges of students and staff. Sabbaticals, research collaboration and other activities may be added when developed and approved by the two institutions.
“We expect the cooperation will be beneficial for Fiskaaling and for the development of Faroese aquaculture in a number of ways. In particular, our researchers will enjoy a unique opportunity to enhance and develop their skills in a relevant environment. Also, I believe that NMBU will benefit from our researchers’ expert knowledge,” says Jóhanna Lava Køtlum, CEO.
The MoU will cover a five year period and may be extended for additional five-year periods by mutual agreement.
